the story of
Growing up in India, I was surrounded by a world alive with color, craft, and contrast. Where beauty wasn’t reserved for special occasions, but woven into everyday life. Those early experiences trained my eye to notice the quiet details - the texture of handwoven fabric, the patina of something timeworn, the poetry in imperfection. They taught me that beauty isn’t just seen; it’s felt.
When I moved across the world, I carried that sensibility with me - an appreciation for artistry, a reverence for craftsmanship, and a curiosity about how people live. Travel continues to shape that perspective, deepening my connection to culture, material, and the human stories behind design. Each place I visit offers a new lens - a pattern, a texture, a way of living - that subtly informs how I see and create.
I often say my relationship with design began long before I became a designer.
My work is guided by intuition and narrative - translating the lives of my clients into spaces that feel authentic, layered, and lived in.
I believe design should not only look beautiful, but feel like an extension of who you are: shaped by your rituals, travels, and the details that give life its texture.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of designing homes and spaces across the country - from light-filled Victorians in San Francisco to storied brownstones in New York, and creative workspaces that blur the line between artistry and everyday living. Yet regardless of style or setting, my approach remains constant: to listen deeply, design with intention, and create spaces that hold warmth, meaning, and a quiet sense of home.

An Affair With Color is still, at its heart, a love letter to home. A practice of weaving past and present, beauty and belonging - one story, one space at a time.
2025 - today
By this point, the studio had grown into a trusted partner for full-service design, furniture curation, and styling - creating interiors that felt as lived-in as they were elevated.
2022 - REFINED VISION
As the world closed its borders, An Affair With Color opened its horizons. From Dallas to Washington, and onward to New York, our work traveled across coasts — each project proof that story-driven design carries meaning anywhere.
2020 - Across the country
Word-of-mouth and referrals led to projects across the Bay Area, each one deepening my philosophy that design is a dialogue between memory and space.
2018 - finding voice
Early projects in San Francisco allowed me to experiment with bold palettes, layered textures, and the balance of modern elegance with approachable warmth.
2017 - first foundations
An Affair With Color was born from a longing to create homes that feel like love letters - layered with story, memory, and meaning.
